Shelf Reflection Candy Reading Challenge for Kids (and Adults)
Shelf Reflection Candy Reading Challenge for Kids (and Adults)
By: Shelf Reflection
This year’s reading challenge for kids is CANDY themed! Who doesn’t love a little treat?
I created this challenge to be used for kids or adults! Some prompts will work for both kids and adults, and some will have separate, specified prompts.
There are 40 prompts and 10+ bonus prompts— which, admittedly, is a lot of prompts… but no candy left behind! Set your own goal and pick whatever combination of prompts you’d like to do!
Feel free to treat yourself to each candy as you finish the prompt!
I’ve also created a little Candyland board tracker you can use as a reward system for completing prompts if that is a more appealing way to see your progress. For each section of books you achieve a customizable reward.
Pretty sweet, amiright?!
I’ve created a bunch of printables that are linked and pictured at the end of the post, including a checklist, a BINGO board, the Candyland board tracker, and reading journal options where kids can practice writing reviews.
Here are some fun bookish prizes you might consider or just buy straight up candy from Amazon:
Fun magnetic bookmarks (these are flowery, but there are more boyish options too)
DIY diamond dot bookmarks (we did this for my daughter’s birthday party)
Reading stickers for a water bottle (or anything else…)
Harry-Potter themed ‘I solemnly swear to read more books’ pouch
Fun bookish shirt (I don’t have a ton of kids’ options on my shop, but you’re welcome to browse)
Or just a good old-fashioned Amazon gift card to buy more books!
